Today I wanted to tell everyone about a book I bought years back, but have rediscovered recently.
This book was monumental for me when I first started learning how to eat healthy. It gave me the guidance I needed.
The beauty of it is that it isn’t solely a cookbook with recipes. No. There’s much more to it than that.
They start with instructions on how to use the book, including basic health guidelines that you can follow. As a coach, this is my favorite part of the book because the basics are so important for long-term success. Many people are looking for a quick or cool fix. In their search, they overlook the building blocks of nutrition success.
The book also gives you general cooking and cleaning tips to make the process less of a headache. The organization and cleanup process is one of the biggest barriers there are to eating healthy. The last thing people want to do after a long day of work is slave away over the stove.
PRO TIP: Fill half of your sink with warm, soapy water that you can stick your cookware in when it’s no longer needed. This method lets you start cleaning passively while you’re still preparing/cooking your food. I learned that from Gourmet Nutrition.
The rest of the book is filled with healthy recipes, each containing a beautiful image, grouped by the type of dish or the meat used in the entree. Check out this sample of the book. The thing is freaking gorgeous.
