Selecting Local Produce During the Winter Months

Eating healthy and getting high quality produce in the winter may seem difficult, but you’ve got more choices than you realize!

Your local grocery store is always a possibility, but what about trying something different? 

There are several options below that allow you to purchase produce or unique artisan foods – and support your local farmers.

  1. Indoor Farmers Market – Indianapolis Winter Famer’s Market runs November – April with 75 vendors, live music, yoga classes, and kids activities – something for everyone to enjoy!  It runs on Saturdays from 9am – 12:30pm.  Visit GrowingPlacesIndy.org for more information.
  2. An online farmer’s market such as Market Wagon.  Local farmers and artisans list and sell their products online.  You purchase only what you want and Market Wagon will deliver to your home or office – or they offer free pick up!  Check out MarketWagon.com for delivery areas and more information.

Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy healthy, local, and high quality produce.
