Why IFAST Rocks #3 – The Coaching

written by Mike Robertson

Before we begin, I just want to say I hope you had an AWESOME Christmas weekend!

Today we’re going to continue our journey on the reasons why I think IFAST rocks. Just in case you missed Part 1 or Part 2, I’ll link them up below.

Why IFAST Rocks #1 – The Beginning

Why IFAST Rocks #2 – The Programming

Today we’re going to talk about coaching – and why it’s so important to your success.

First off, would you believe that we have clients who regularly travel from the following areas to work with us?

  • Lexington, Kentucky
  • St. Louis, Missouri
  • Paducah, Kentucky

There’s are 3, 4 or even 5 hour drives – just to work with our team here at IFAST!

But here’s what make this even cooler: These aren’t average every day people wanting to get into shape, these are other TRAINERS!

That’s right – a good portion of the people who come to our gym are other personal trainers and strength coaches. And they come here to learn from us so that they can take the own coaching and training to the next level.

This tells me two things:

  1. These people are damn smart, because they’re willing to invest money in themselves to get better.
  2. Either we’re pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes, or we have something legitimate and unique to offer our clients.

As your coach, we need to provide you with a lot of different things to ensure your fitness success.

Exercise Technique – Our first role as your coach is to be able to effectively coach and cue you with regards to exercise technique. After all, we could give you a perfect program and you might not get much out of it if you aren’t performing the exercises correctly.

Motivation – A good coach not only understands proper technique, but finds ways to relate to and motivate you as an individual. Too often, this is how the prototypical “trainer” is portrayed on TV. They may be great motivators, but their understanding of technique, exercise physiology, etc., is subpar at best.

If you want a great coach, they need to understand the X’s and O’s of training, while simultaneously keeping you motivated and focused.

Accountability – When you become really serious about achieving your fitness related goals, having a trainer or coach waiting on you to show up for a workout is a great motivator. After all – do you really want to be the person who bails out? Who skips a session just because life got tough?

Problem Solving – Last but not least, we’re here for you to bounce ideas off of. If your weight or fat loss efforts have plateaued, why did that happen? And what can we do to help you kick-start the process again?

Quite simply, a coach plays a lot of roles – all of them invaluable to your success.

The best athletes in the world have a coach…

The biggest and most lucrative businesses in the world have a coach…

So the question becomes – why don’t YOU have  coach???
