Indianapolis Fitness and Sports Training athlete Maia Monchek was named The 2009 Daily News Player of the Year in leading Notre Dame-Belmont High School to the Central Coast Section Div. III Softball Championship.
Not only did she lead her team to the championship, she ended her high school softball career going 6-for-8 with a home run, two triples, a double, and two singles. She drove in four runs and scored 5 of the team’s 16 runs over the last 3 games.
On the season, she lead the team offesively in almost every statistical category with a .550 batting average, 55 hits, including 13 doubles, 5 triples, and 3 homers. She drove in 45 runs and scored 42 herself. She credits her new found power (and based on today’s reassessment a lot of hard earned muscle) to her off-season strength training program from IFAST.
By the way parents, she also has a 3.9 GPA!!
I’m also proud to say that Maia will be attending Purdue (Go Boilers!) on a softball scholarship this coming year. That gives us plenty of opportunity for some big gains over the next 4 years.
Way to go Maia!
Bill
