Here at IFAST, I think it’s safe to say we have a unique approach to training. One of the facets of our training that makes us unique is our use of foam rolling in our programming.
For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, foam rolling is much like a poor man’s massage – we’d all love to have a massage every day, but unfortunately, it’s not really do-able from a financial perspective! Beyond the obvious benefits of relaxation and stress relief, massage also improves our movement by decreasing stiffness in tissues and making us more mobile. At this point in time, foam rolling is a staple in our warm-up routines.
Furthermore, when you combine foam rolling with appropriate forms of stretching and an intelligent training regimen, you have the ability to see massive changes in movement quality and performance in a very short period of time.
