Just because something hurts doesn’t mean you should stretch it. Take your neck for instance. It takes understanding as to why it hurts in the first place. Many folks complain about feeling tightness and limited motion leading many misguided patients and physical therapists to stretch their way out of pain. Stretching in an of itself does very little to fix anything. Tightness is a feeling and not an indication of length of a muscle. In most cases, it’s merely a muscle that is poorly positioned. Fix the position, fix the problem. Here’s an example.
