Hello IFAST community! My name Jason Neal and I have recently been hired as a Strength Coach/Office Administrator. I have been visiting this site and reading this blog since I was a freshman in college so it’s surreal to be writing something for it.
I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of such a talented and experienced team.
I began weight training when I was about 14 and my Uncle Joe wrote me my first training program. I loved the weight room in high school and the confidence it gave me on the ball diamond. I have always been fascinated with the preparation side of athletics and seeing the work from weight room transfer over into performance. I had originally wanted to be a broadcaster growing up, but when I found out you could be a strength coach I quickly changed my mind.
I am originally from New Castle, Indiana. In New Castle, while doing practicum hours at the local YMCA, someone introduced me to Ty Terrell when I was a freshman in college. In our first meeting I knew this guy was sharp. I began shadowing him and reading books and other resources he suggested to me. One of them was IFAST. I was hooked on the content they were putting out and was even lucky enough to be an intern from January of 2015 into that spring.
Some hobbies of mine include golf, reading, and watching or playing anything competitive. My favorite foods include, but are not limited to burritos, wings, and anything to do with coffee. Some hobbies that I am trying to get more into are tennis, meditation, and boxing.
I am very excited to be back with such an amazing and caring group of people. I hope to see you bright and early at IFAST!
