Hi! I’m “Tall” Dave Schoch and I’m from Greenwood, Indiana.
Coaching for me was a natural transition from my time as an athlete. Training for sports sparked more questions about human performance training than I could answer on my own, so I decided to study kinesiology in school so I could get those questions answered.
As far as my philosophy goes, hands down the most important factor in a training program is adherence. I’m a big believer in building trust by listening to each person’s unique story.
Everyone feels like the main character in their own story, and I believe that a training program should reflect that.
Another strategy that continues to creep upward on the list is keeping it simple. No matter the starting point, reinforcement of the simplest skills will pay dividends early and often.
My clientele skews toward active older adults and weekend warriors. I also work with several athletes playing sports with a high demand for agility, such as tennis, baseball, and volleyball.
I have experience with professional athletes, youth athletes, retirees, young professionals, special populations, and everything in between.
Outside of the gym, my wife and I spend much of our time playing games, wrestling, racing, or playing video games with my two sons, Wesley (4) and Zachary (2).
I stay active outside the gym by playing tennis as often as I can, and I’m nearly always doing some gardening or yardwork with any extra time I have.
Last but not least, I have played the guitar for nearly 20 years, and have always enjoyed listening to and playing music in my spare time.
If you’re ready to think outside the box with your training program and learn something new along the way, I’d love to be your coach!
