Why is IFAST different?

One of the most common questions we get at IFAST is, “what makes you guys different?”

It’s a fantastic question – and one that I actually love answering.  Here are just a few of the reasons I feel we’re superior to your local, big-box gym.

1 – A well-trained staff

Obviously, many people who come to IFAST know about Bill and myself.  I think that our backgrounds and training experience definitely set us apart from other trainers in the area.  That’s not meant to be disparaging to anyone, but I do think we’re pretty good. :)

Beyond Bill and myself, we have two fantastic full-time trainers in Wayne and Zach as well.  Zach and Wayne haven’t been in the industry as long as Bill or myself, but they’ve both spent over 4 months in the facility going through an unpaid internship to learn about our coaching and training methodologies.  They’re fantastic trainers and really help set our facility apart. Wayne has worked for us for close to a year, and Zach just joined us at the beginning of August.

We brought these two guys on not only because they’re great coaches, but great people as well.

2 – More than just a membership

When you sign on at most gyms, once your memberhsip dues are collected you’re on your own to figure out what to do.

Not here.

Everyone who comes into our gym not only has an individualized program, but they get dedicated training sessions as well. Working with a coach is a sure-fire way to fast track your progress, and help you achieve your goals faster.

So with every gym membership you purchase from us, you get the following:

- 1, 2 or 3 weekly coaching sessions

- Monthly program updates

- Unlimited gym usage

Finally, one of the best things about our gym is the fact that you’re surrounded by like-minded inviduals.  Everyone at IFAST comes here for a different reason; whether it’s to lose body fat or scale weight, build muscle, improve their athletic performance, or to simply get stronger, eveyone here has a goal and is dedicated to achieving it.

3 – Individualized programming

The final key to puzzle is individualized programming to help you achieve your goals.

Every client that comes into IFAST gets a total-body assessment to determine muscle imbalances, joint mobility and flexibility, body composition, and to get a general feel for how they move.

From this assessment, we combine their “needs” (what we find in the assessment) and merge that with their “goals” (what they want to achieve from their training).

The result? A program that not only gets them moving and feeling better, but helps them get bigger, stronger, lose body fact, etc.

These are just a few of the reasons I feel that IFAST is superior, but at the end of the day, you really have to try us out to understand.

2 Years Down – How Many to Go???

Last Wednesday, August 4th, marked Indianapolis Fitness and Sports Training’s two-year anniversary.

I actually remember back when we started.  It wasn’t uncommon for me to work 12, 13 or even 14 hour days to keep the gym open and accomodate all of our clients.  Bill too – and that was on top of managing two physical therapy clinics as well!

Needless to say, it was a labor of love in the beginning.  Sure, I got tired from time-to-time, but it was all worth it in the long run.

Looking back, I feel like those long days helped form us as a business.  We have never been the sexiest fitness option.  We don’t have all the bells and whistles that you might find at another fitness facility.

But what we do have is a scientific and proven way to train clients and athletes to maximize performance.  And more importantly, we’re real people, who care about each and every one of our clients.  We’re as serious about their success as we are about our own.

In two years, we’ve grow from a staff of two to a staff of five.  We consistently get great interns in to our facility, and it feels like each and every month we add a couple of new members.

At the end of the day, I’m damn proud to call Indianapolis Fitness and Sports Training my home and my business.
